Starting a Young Republican
Organization |
In order for a county Young Republican Club to
become a member of the Young Republicans of Pennsylvania (YRPA), it must first
obtain a charter. The following information must be submitted to charter with
the YRPA:
- A list of officers, including names and
addresses
- A list of at least 15 members, including
names, addresses, and phone numbers
- A set of by-laws and constitution
- A check for payment of annual dues
As required by YRPA by-laws, a charter
application must include a check for payment of annual dues.
- For clubs seeking a first time charter, the
fee is a flat $25.
- For clubs that are re-chartering, the fee is
a flat $40.
The check for payment of the dues should be
made payable to the Young Republicans of Pennsylvania.
The above listed requirements may be mailed to the YRPA at the following
address: The Young Republicans of Pennsylvania;
PO Box 149; Harrisburg; PA 17108, or may be submitted in person at the
next YRPA Executive Board Meeting.
The YRPA requirements for chartering are set up not only to let the state know
that your Club is off the ground and up and running, but it also provides you
with initial goals to strive for when organizing your Club.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you should have any questions or
need some help with regard to the chartering requirements, approval process or
about the Young Republicans in general. Thank you for your interest and good
luck with your Club!!
